The purpose of this paper “Men’s Sexual Trauma Resistance in Black American Folklore: A Postcolonial Criticism Negro “Woman Tales” from the Gulf States” was to discuss reflection postcolonial sexual trauma and resistance it through storytelling among African Americans States. study concerned with 3 folktales classified under cycle Tales”. were selected collection made by Zora Neale Hurston southern states Alabama, Florida, Louisiana 1927 1930 compiled book Every Tongue Got confess: Folktales States (2001). approach theory based on interpretative qualitative method library research used discussion folktales. It found that performance is informed black men’s traumatic memories slavery post-slavery emasculation. male narrators imitate narratives which they reflect recreate woman identity contain it. Through imitation reflection, challenge legacy plantation patriarchy reconstructing a woman's docile masculinity.
